Getting to really know people is a wonderful thing. Learning about their interests, triumphs, disappointments, and dreams is what establishes great relationships. Light in my City is grateful for the trust and vulnerability that our homeless Pittsburgh neighbors afford us. We are grateful that we are able to find common interests, are able to celebrate their triumphs, offer consolation over disappointments, and work together to find ways to help them work toward making their dreams a reality.
Investing in the lives of others is an investment that always pays dividends. The LuminAID lantern, FosPower emergency hand-crank radio, and other supplies were greatly appreciated, but we were told that the hour we took to simply have a conversation meant more than we would ever know.
