"You've given me the best gift." Those are the words of the sixty-nine year old newly homeless woman (pictured above) that Light in my City had the honor of meeting this weekend. She was displaced from her rental home of thirty years due to the landlord's desire to sell. With no family, she had nowhere to turn but the streets. I thought the gift she was thanking me for was maybe the LuminAID solar lantern, FosPower emergency radio, or sleeping bag, blankets, or hand warmers. However, she continued by saying, "Thank you for making me smile for the first time in four days." She was so very appreciative for the supplies, but even more so for the care and love that Light in my City was able to share.
